Isolation Day – Lots of mother-daughter bonding today. The ship doctor offered to find me another cabin while Anna is isolated, but honestly, what’s the point? I’ve been sleeping 2 feet from her for the entire trip. I’m either immune or doomed at this point.
This was our view of Barcelona today (first photo below). Sure, other people spent the day looking at Gaudí masterpieces, but we got a private viewing of this architectural marvel. It’s breathtaking, no?
Anna is feeling a little better today. She’s been able to keep down all fluids, some dry Frosted Flakes, and a bite (singular) of plain spaghetti.
Watched some movies, ordered some room service, read some books. Repeat. Repeat again.
Snuck out of isolation to do a load of Anna’s sick laundry – good times. I still don’t get why it takes 3 hours to run a wash cycle. I hope it means her clothes are really, really clean.
Silver linings of isolation day: 1) have not broken a sweat in over 36 hours. We have the room A/C set as cold as it will go, which is 20C. 2) missed out on the mass protests in Mallorca and Barcelona today against over-tourism. Protestors are heckling tourists and squirting them with water guns. Not at all sad we didn’t get to participate in that.
At sea tomorrow, but (knock on wood), out of isolation. Hoping for a continued trend toward recovery. We’ve got things to see!
Beautiful sunset from our balcony tonight.
Cheers!
