We are docked off the coast of Porto Cervo, Sardinia this morning. Neither one of us were in the mood to be hot today, so we decided to stay on the ship for a chill day. Plus, it’s a tender day, and I’m not a fan of that sweltering, bobbing lifeboat.
So, the day:
Anna has an appetite again – hallelujah!
Parked ourselves in the shade and did some reading. I finished my book – Middlesex – a tremendous read, btw.
Got lunch at the Japanese restaurant on the ship. I don’t like sushi, which is a shame, because it’s gorgeous food. Instead, I enjoyed the veggie wok with a Sapporo beer. And dessert: coconut sorbet with lime. Incredible.
Went through all of our treasures from the last couple of weeks. Showed Anna the things we bought when she was in her fever-dream from the ick. Even losing six days of shopping, we had good karma! (Sorry, Ken). Next: vacuum bag and tetris everything back into our suitcases.
Since we missed our day in Barcelona on account of the ick, we decided to wear our Barcelona wardrobe tonight. Anna wasn’t going to get off this ship without wearing her fruuiiittt dress! And, since it won’t melt off my face, why not throw on some makeup?
Got a picture with our wonderful suite host, Ray. She’s from Brazil. And she took such good care of us, especially when Anna had the ick.
We get back to Rome early tomorrow. And then we have a hot afternoon at the Vatican ahead of us.
Cheers!

Things are on the up, though Sardinia is a beautiful island so it’s a shame you didn’t bob your way over. And at last, a girls’ night out 😂
I’d really like to go back to Sardinia – but in any season except summer!
Glad she’s well again. I’ve enjoyed your holiday blogs. Would you recommend a Mediterranean cruise? We keep umming and ahhing about booking one.
I’m working on a post about that very question, Steve. Stay tuned!
Sorry, Ken is right!
😂 It’s still cheaper than a new shotgun . . .
Glad the positives outweigh the negatives t last. Lovely photos of both of you . . , just so sorry you missed all the destinations. . . Have read ‘Middlesex’ way back and methinks enjoyed it!
Thanks, Eha! Better days ahead. Cheers!
