🇫🇷 Convalescing in Corsica

After yesterday’s heat-induced calamity, Anna and I decided we would see Corsica from the ship today. It’s 93 degrees outside this morning, and as much as I was looking forward to counting statues of Napoleon, we’re going to stay put – and stay cool.

God-willing and the creek don’t rise, we have a full day in Florence tomorrow. If we have any chance of making that excursion happen, Anna needs today to continue her glacially slow recovery.

So, lots of balcony time today. The view of the Ajaccio harbor from our balcony is lovely. It’s very pleasant in the shade – as long as you don’t exert yourself in any way. We saw this class of little sailors float by this morning. Adorable.

I had no idea how mountainous Corsica is. Pretty dramatic, really. I think I would enjoy coming back here in say, October.

Trying to do another load of Anna’s sick-laundry today, but all of the washers are in use. Why are these people doing laundry when they could be sweating buckets walking around Corsica?!?

Knock on ALL the wood, Anna may have turned a corner today. She ate a few bites of solid food, and kept it all down. Huzzah.

Send all the good health vibes you can. Fingers crossed: Florence tomorrow.

  1. I remember when the term midgets was okay. Now you have to call them “little sailers”. Pathetic. Bahahahahaha!

  2. There is nothing ‘useful’ I can say – ‘sorry’ seems to make things worse. Hope you made it in Florence with just a tad of enjoyment. Haven’t made it to Corsica myself – have seen many photos and was born a ‘Napoleon freak’ as he was one of Dad’s favourites 🙂 ! Bestest !!!
