Last day in Munich. Today’s goal was to hunt down all the Munich things we “need” to take home with us.
1. A janker (traditional Bavarian jacket) for E.
(A great place to buy high quality traditional clothing in Munich is Lodenfrey.)
2. A traditional Bavarian jacket for me. ![]()
3. Bonus jacket for me because I couldn’t decide, and I have no discipline. ![]()
4. Bavarian whiskey, made by a family just outside of Munich. Great addition to my whiskey collection. ![]()
5. Cigars for the boys. Costa Rican tobacco, but blended in Bavaria.
(If you are a whiskey and/or cigar person, I highly recommend a stop at Zechbauer München.)
6. Remember those cute ceramic birds I saw yesterday? ![]()
7. Radi (Bavarian beer radish) seeds for dad. ![]()
8. Leberkäse semmel and a Radler. Enjoyed both in the Biergarten. ![]()
9. Stop at the Vitualienmarkt and replace the Christmas ornament Jack (our lab puppy) ate. ![]()
10. Weingums. ![]()
11. ABC Russich-Brot. Favorite from my childhood, and I still love them. ![]()
Some down time this afternoon to do absolutely nothing. Ok, we may have eaten some Weingums.
Dinner tonight with an old family friend at Spatenhaus. So many good memories here. Dad got his kalbslever (liver), so now the trip is complete.
Here’s to a great last day in Munich. Until next time. Prost! 🍻

I thought you were in Italy. I’m so confused.
My blog posts are always behind. Real time posts are on my personal FB and IG page!
Still don’t know if my comment on your other Munich post landed or drifted off into its own world. So often you do/eat/drink things that I share your liking of, but whiskey, cigars and radler are three that aren’t on my list..l
. . . We do have a few things in common . . . these three I can live without also . . . 🙂 !
I should clarify – I adore bourbon and Irish whiskey. I cannot stand Scotch. Or Japanese whiskey bc it’s usually modeled after Scotch.
OMG – have just told myself off! There has been SO much going on here (mostly not ‘nice’ either) that I still have not sent you the Estonian bread recipes – will do so over the weekend and my apologies! Absolutely gorgeous photos of one of your ‘home’ cities and a favourite of mine! ‘Russisch Brot’ must be the black kind and I love the radishes and ‘Kalbsleber’ these days is hard to get here also – I could live on it! Best . .
Thanks, Eha!!
