Phoenix, Arizona 🇺🇸 🌵

Ken got up at the crack of dawn to hike. Here’s a couple of pics from his hike – more balloons! I hiked 250 feet to the coffee shop. Here’s a couple of pics from my hike – Nutella mocha!

Walked through downtown Sedona (aka the new age crystal capital of the world) on our way out of town. Bought a crystal (bc if I have magic dirt, I need to have a magic crystal). This one eliminates parasites. Because you never know when you’re going to have to get rid of a tapeworm. It’s just good sense to have this at the ready. Ken Nye the Science Guy had to leave the store.

Woman in another store tried to sell Ken a bolo tie. Let that sink in. Ken. A bolo tie. She told him he would absolutely radiate confidence if he wore it. Ken said he didn’t need that kind of confidence. No bolo ties were purchased.

QOTD from some guy sitting on top of his van raging at the world: “You’re all doomed, with your soulless, vanity driven, communist lifestyle.” Um, I’m not sure you have a complete understanding of all of those words. But rage on, my dude.

Off to Phoenix this afternoon – early flight tomorrow. Stopped north of Phoenix at a place called Rock Springs Cafe for lunch, and what I read was “world famous” bourbon pecan pie. Place was crazy busy. Lunch was meh, and while the pie was good, it wasn’t life-changing.

So, Phoenix. It is October 10th and it is 98 degrees. Dry heat my ass. It’s fucken HOT. I’m melting. Sweating in the shade. Nordic people are not cut out for this kind of swelter.

Considered a walk through the Desert Botanical Garden to see the saguaro cacti, but the thought of being outside in the sun for longer than 3 minutes was, um, unappealing. So, enjoy these shots I took from the side of the road.

Home tomorrow, where I will celebrate oxygen and humidity appreciation day.
