Wedding Day for Thomas and Stefi!
Since I almost twisted my ankle on these cobblestone streets half a dozen times yesterday, decided to take the morning to chill at the hotel before getting ready for the wedding.
Another spectacular Guatemalan breakfast. Motuleรฑos (fried eggs on a corn tortilla, with black beans, mild avocado, fresh cheese and a sprinkle of hot sauce) is my new thing. I never understood people who could eat hot sauce on eggs. I get it now. That said, people who eat ketchup on eggs are lunatics.
Still havenโt found a rock for my international rock collection. Ken suggested a cobblestone. I suggested not cobblestone. But I think we may have settled on cobblestone.
Put on our wedding finery (and a shit-ton of sunscreen for the gringa). Took a few pics before we walked to the ceremony. I was smart and took pictures in my cute, but very stupid red shoes, and changed into sensibles for the cobblestone trek. Did not fall.
The wedding! The ceremony was at the ruins of Convento Santa Clara, which was destroyed by a major earthquake in 1773. As far as wedding venues go, this was off the charts spectacular!!
Thomas and Stefi were radiant inside and out. We were so happy to have been a part of such joy. Many happy tears were shed.
Congratulations Thomas and Stefi!!
