The hunters were out at Lindores Estate today. Excellent day for them – Ken sent a couple of pics.
I had the day all to myself . . . walked all over Scotland.
Shared my yogurt this morning with a beautiful black lab pup named Poppy. I told Ken a few days ago I want to name our next dog Poppy. This seals the deal.
Took a walk across the River Tay to see the 500 year old Birnham Oak tree. Apparently, there is mention of this exact tree in Shakespeare’s Macbeth. I still have PTSD from having to read Macbeth in High school. Nice tree, terrible play.
Accidentally saw an art exhibit in Birnham. Meant to walk though a shopping gallery. Got art instead. “Dimensions of Spirit” by Li Huang. It was very esoteric. Something about cultural rituals surrounding the human soul after death. Give or take.
Needed refreshment, so had a delicious Scottish cider and sandwich at the Scottish Deli in Dunkeld. Art exhibit would have made more sense after a cider.
Tried to get into the Dunkeld Cathedral (circa 1260), but it’s closed because apparently, there are some actively falling masonry pieces. I offered to duck, but still couldn’t get inside.
Treated myself to a facial and pedicure this afternoon. My facialist, Charlotte, reminded me so much of my daughter. God, I miss her. Got some great insights into the young folks of Scotland. They love football, vodka, haggis, and Doc Martens. They hate Crocs. She moonlights at a pub called the Abbot’s Fart. This country has the BEST pub names.
