A Day in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho today. Stopped for breakfast at a Guy Fieri anointed diner called, Jimmy’s Down the Street. Ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits. Mistake. Biscuits and gravy are the domain of the south. Not sure what I was thinking ordering it in Idaho. Tasted like peppery paste.
Ordered one of their “famous” pecan sticky rolls to go. Because look at these guys. Looks can be deceiving. It was OK, a bit dry, and if I’m being honest, it could have been stickier. Just saying.
Walked through the Kootenai County farmers market. Beautiful cut flowers and produce (potatoes!!). And . . . a woman charging $7 to HOLD a bunny.
Last hike of the trip today. Hallelujah. I am all hiked out. I was promised an easy and flat hike. LIES. I got way too much UP, slippery rocks, and a bouncy suspension bridge that Ken thought was “fun”.
Had never seen covered boat slips before. I clearly don’t spend enough time around boats. Or marinas.
Beautiful sunset over the lake tonight to end our Day in Coeur d’Alene.

Cheers!

I’ve tried Grits and Biscuits (scones here in the UK) in Tennessee. I’m not sure if that’s the same as the gravy here. It looked the same. It wasn’t for me. I wasted a good scone there!
Scones are a bit sweet, aren’t they? American biscuits are just delicious buttery dough.
I would not put gravy on a scone!!
The English language can be difficult, can’t it :)? What you in the States call ‘biscuits’ are very definitely ‘scones’ here and not sweet at all – and your ‘cookies’ are our ‘biscuits’, as if you did not know by now !!! Love your photos – the pine cones, potatoes and the last twilight ones most of all . . .
A beautiful sunset indeed. Did the biscuit and gravy thing on our Southern states tour last year. Scones and mushroom soup. With breakfast. Oh come ooooon. But before you leap into defensive strategy, we did have PLENTY of great food experiences Louisiana/Tennessee. Seven dollars to hold a bunny? I’d rather have scones and soup on my brekkie. Thank you.
Scones and biscuits are way different beasts. Where on earth did you have scones and mushroom soup for breakfast?!? Eeew.
😂
